Description of Work:

The Administrative Specialist I, will perform a variety of daily task, mostly comprised of fiscal/budgetary functions associated with the park; as well as creating statistical data reports. The individual will make purchases using E-Procurement and P-Cards according to departmental guidelines. The ability to accurately process invoices, reconcile statements, create and audit bank deposits. The individual assigned to this position is required to utilize the Central Reservation System (CRS) to process payments for reservations and retail sales.

In addition to those responsibilities, the individual will use the Division of Parks and Recreation WAN Database to generate and maintain information. The individual must be aware and able to provide park visitors with accurate information regarding daily park activities, conditions and/or any changes regarding Rendezvous Mountain State Park via the website. While functioning as the first point of contact for the general public. Be able to respond to inquiries in person, by phone and/or through email. Route calls to the appropriate party when necessary.

The position will provide administrative and clerical support for the interpretive and education programs for the park including advertising and registration. Should be able to correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and other terminology while composing and/or proofreading correspondence. Must be able to use MS Office, Word, Excel, file, sort mail, use a copier, fax machine, and access electronic database files. A general knowledge of all Division of Parks and Recreation program areas such as: Park Operations, Interpretation and Education, Law Enforcement, Resource Management and Public Safety. The individual in this position will have the ability to interpret and explain policies, regulations and programs. The ability to plan and coordinate a volume and variety of appointments, meetings, conferences and workshops.

The individual will be responsible for assisting with the seasonal hiring process. Using the E-Verify System, NCID and Human Resources Payroll System to enter data. Function as the Time Administrator for seasonal and permanent staff.

May be required to work weekend and holidays.

A skills assessment may be conducted during the interview.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
