Department Summary
We have over 4,000 students at UNT Engineering, with about 250 enrolled in our doctoral programs. In total, the College of Engineering offers 4 doctoral, 10 master’s, and 11 bachelor’s degree programs in biomedical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical and energy engineering, construction engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology, which prepare our students to compete in today’s global market. Additionally, the college has established multiple 3+2 education programs with universities in India and China.

Position Overview
Maintains a positive front-line contact with visitors, students, staff and faculty via in person or phone and manages front of office operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and three years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.

  • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.

  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.

Job Duties

o
Provide direct support for the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs including non-routine correspondence, data compilation, forms, reports, calendar maintenance, travel vouchers, and any special projects as assigned

o
Prepare documents, maintain correspondence, and take minutes for the Undergraduate and Graduate Curriculum Committees to meet University Curriculum Committee guidelines and deadlines.

o
Serve as main contact for students, both prospective and current, and attempt to address/resolve student issues.

o
Assist with recruitment activities including maintaining tour schedules, assisting in supervision of student ambassadors in absence of recruiter.

o
Maintain and process college scholarship accounts, student travel budget and e-pars.

o
Provide backup support for staff within the office of the Dean.
