What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
The Administrative Assistant will provide highly responsible administrative and office assistance to ensure smooth and effective operations; represent the Commission to the public and provide professional courteous customer service. In this role, you will schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments, research and compile dates for reports and studies, compose and/or prepare routine and confidential reports and correspondence.
Responsibilities include:
  • Evaluates office operations and makes recommendations for changes to maintain office productivity and efficiency.
  • Assists manager in planning and implementing various department programs, activities, and services as assigned.
  • Coordinates with field crew, foremen and supervisors to ensure accuracy details for service requests and work orders via Lucity CMMS.
  • Maintain water meter data, routes, and loading data into Edmunds.
  • Requests utility locate services through SC811 prior to dig repairs.
  • Handles, records and deposits, accounts payable, and PO’s.
  • Records customer payments, complaints, and other information.
  • Maintains and monitors backflow testing program using Lucity CMMS.
  • Assist with Lead and Copper sampling.
  • Monitors SCADA system and provides open communication with technicians on alarms.
  • Provide necessary maps for water and sewer locates for technicians, contractors, and vendors.
  • Accepts fees for new water and sewer service.
  • Maintain an inventory of office supplies.
  • Coordinate meetings and scheduling work orders.
  • Research and update vacant lot accounts in SIUC service area.
  • Maintains Petty Cash.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Any combination of training and experience which will indicate possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed above.
  • Experience providing administrative support for utilities is preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred with ability to carry out required tasks.
  • Must have a valid State of South Carolina Driver License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word (intermediate), Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience in utilizing CMMS (Computerized maintenance management systems) a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing demands.

The salary ranges given below are a national average only and may be different for this role based on specific collective bargaining agreements or contract requirements.
Please reference this project specific pay range instead. In addition, for facilities that are unionized and receive benefits through the union, the benefits may differ from what is listed.
Project Specific Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hour, depending on qualifications.

Pay:
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided below; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
Annual Incentive Bonus Opportunity:
Eligible positions may receive an annual cash bonus based on the role’s organizational level, and is represented as a percentage range of eligible earnings**
Pay Range
$13.73 - $28.32

  • Vacation time is provided to full and part-time regular employees. Vacation is accrued, based on number of hours worked per week as well as prior years of experience.
