Position Summary:
Alaska Sea Grant is seeking a half-time administrative assistant for our downtown Anchorage office. This position will perform general office management duties for our Anchorage office as well as procurement, fiscal administration, and event planning support.Duties:
Alaska Sea Grant is seeking a half-time administrative assistant for our downtown Anchorage office. This position will perform general office management duties for our Anchorage office as well as procurement, budgeting, and event planning support.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize fiscal management responsibilities.
- Solid knowledge of accounting practices and experience with electronic fiscal software used in a university setting, including spreadsheets, data management systems, Banner, etc.
- Ability to coordinate all aspects of event planning.
- Ability to analyze situations and solve problems independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain files and recordkeeping systems.
High School graduation and three years office/administrative experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
This is a part-time, 12-month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
