To provide Payroll and HR services by applying individual expertise and displaying the highest standards of customer service in the Department of Radiology. This includes immeasurable amounts of communication both verbal and email to the Clinical Directors, Departmental Managers, Supervisors, as well as other healthcare providers and staff.

Responsibilities*

Triage and prioritize all correspondence, telephone calls, and verbal requests related to HR/Payroll matters for the Department of Radiology.
Process PARS for the entire department, approximately 1200 bargained for and non-bargained for staff. This includes FTE changes, DBE changes, wage/salary increases/adjustments, tuition requests, transfers, terminations, equity increases, promotions, and any other changes requested by department managers or directors. Support all aspects of new employee onboarding.
Process all added duties differentials and salary supplements within the system. Track, review, and renew on an annual or periodic basis. Provide updated reports to managers and directors related to these payments for budgeting purposes.
Review and adjust bi-weekly and monthly payroll, this includes timekeeping, OneStaff entry for nursing staff. Verification of accuracy for entire department of approximately 1200 bargained for and non-bargained for staff, exempt, and non-exempt staff.
Provide confirmation and review of financial/payroll related items in MPathways and Finance BI. Additional duties include employee follow up, error troubleshooting, and payroll corrections.
Process all job openings, job offers, new hires, temporary and student temporary hires, new positions, and transfers within the department for both Health System and Medical School staff.
Maintains and monitors FMLA, extended sick, and leave balances for all department staff, both Health System and Medical School.
Create and maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate directly with Human Resource Business Partner for special HR related projects and tasks as needed.
Complete blue folder audits to ensure regulatory guidelines are met.
Exercise initiative, independent judgement, a service-oriented attitude, and follow-through in providing general support to all directors, managers and supervisors within the department.
Has the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, consistently paying attention to detail while communicating and collaborating with peers, managers, and colleagues within the department.
Work with Finance Director to provide data as needed for proper DBE distribution, overtime reconciliation, preparation of annual merit increase spreadsheet and notification letters. Review and verification of all compensation related to staff (i.e. bargained for and non-bargained for staff).
Manage licensures daily for various groups within the Department of Radiology to ensure compliance with University Standards for RN’s, Technologists, PA’s and NP’s.
Enter new employee information into web-site via SharePoint, maintaining complete employee list.
Maintain department level data base for all employees.
Assist with special projects as directed by the Clinical Operations Directors.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelors Degree and 2 years of directly related senior level administrative support or an equivilant combination of education and experience. At least 1 year of experience with “One Staff” nursing payroll.
Provide excellent customer service at all times.
Ability to be thorough and detailed oriented.
Adhere to high standards of teamwork by demonstrating adaptability, flexibility, and consistently sharing information and resources with others.
Ability to work independently in an ever-changing and potentially stressful environment while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Demonstrate dependability, initiative, and ability to prioritize.
Strong organizational skills.
Utilize discretion and appropriate judgement regarding sensitive and/or confidential matters. Demonstrate ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a timely manner. Demonstrate excellent computer skills including data entry and experience with MS Office Suite.
Excellent attendance record.
Experience with the UMPNC contract.
Desired Qualifications*
At least 1 year of experience with UMHS payroll system.
At least 1 year of experience performing basic Human Resources responsibilities.
Bachelor’s Degree.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
