Elmington Senior Living is looking for a Life Enrichment Assistant for the Sanders Glen Assisted Living location!

As the Activity Assistant you will assist Coordinator with the planning, directing, and coordinating of the recreation programs for community residents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Implement activity programs to meet the needs of the residents in the community, based on needs assessment, resident interests and functioning ability, and objectives of the actvities.
  • Develop and distributes monthly activities calendar, including monthly outings and daily outdoor activities as directed.
  • Responsible for promoting interest in recreational activities for community resident's, such as local outings, arts, crafts, games, hobbies, and monthly resident celebrations, such as birthday parties and cookouts.
  • Drive the community bus for resident outings and doctor appointments.
  • Coordinate all necessary transportation for the residents to and from any event outside the community; drives residents in Company-provided vehicle, if applicable.
  • Responsible for the activity documentation being completed in a timely fashion, ensuring activities are being completed when scheduled.
  • Enforces rules and regulations of activities to ensure safety of the residents.
  • Greet new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other participants, explaining rules, and encouraging participation.
  • Explains principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in activities, and demonstrate use of materials and equipment.
  • Confer with management and staff to discuss and resolve resident complaints.
  • Evaluates recreation areas and services to determine if they are producing desired results.
  • Relate to residents, family members, public and professionals appropriately.
  • Reports any issues or problems that may arise to the Life Enrichment Coordinator.
  • Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety.
  • Assists families and other visitors as needed.
  • Attends/completes required in-services and other required meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION
and EXPERIENCE an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

  • High School Dipolma or equivalent; minimum of 1 year of experience in Activities.
  • If responsible for driving residents, must have valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
