We are looking for an Activities Assistant who is outgoing, creative, compassionate, and willing to listen, plan, and think outside the box to make living and working in our community FUN! Our Activities Team works directly with our residents and other departments to fulfill our mission to provide health care, housing, and services in a Christ-centered environment. Our goal is to be dedicated to serving the spiritual, physical, and social needs of our residents, as well as our staff, to ensure a happier and healthier life.
The Activities Assistant position is responsible for:

  • Assisting in the planning, organizing, and leading monthly events and activities for both individual and group activities.
  • Supporting all residents: independent, assisted living and memory care and implement activities that accommodate all physical and cognitive needs.
  • Working as part of a professional medical team to provide the highest degree of quality resident care while adhering to and enforcing all safety procedures.
  • Encouraging resident participation in appropriate activity programs which have been selected according to the assessment of interest, need, and potential.
  • Leading the logistics of events from start to finish (i.e. making phone calls, coordinating advertising, managing inventory and budgets, and coordinating transportation).
  • Driving and operating vans and buses to/from events.
  • Assisting with purchasing, maintaining, and storing of activity equipment and supplies.
  • Relating professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, consultants, and the general public.

Paid Time Off (PTO):

  • PTO is accrued per hour worked and accrual rates vary based on years of service completed. Accrual rates range from 0.03847 to 0.09616 hours accrued for each hour worked. Unused PTO rolls over each year up to a maximum total of 315 hours. Supplemental employees do not accrue PTO.
  • Paid Sick Leave is accrued separate from PTO at an accrual rate of 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
  • Paid Holidays (9 days per calendar year).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent resource management, computer, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • First Aid/CPR certification within the first thirty (30) days of employment (class provided at Riverview)
  • Washington State food handler’s card or obtain within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Activities experience (preferred).
  • Experience in geriatrics, mental health, developmental disabilities, and behavior management (preferred).
  • Strong computer and clerical skills using Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
