Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to lead a team and ensure the functions are performed in accordance to established policies and procedures supporting various business areas in support of Finance Operations/AP. In addition, this role will need to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of work on a period and quarterly basis. This position requires the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and situations and has latitude to consider best course of action. This position is responsible for analysis and interpretation of data, resolving and escalating issues and managing staff.
The position will manage a total of 4 hourly associates and a minimum of 2 temporary associates.

Primary duties and responsibilities
Direct and lead team of Accounts Payable associates; plan, prioritize, assign, and supervise work performed by the team
Work directly with Ahold Delhaize USA Brand finance and RBS Finance teams to ensure the timely response to non-routine ad hoc reporting and information requests
Oversee data flow and process between various departments and 3rd party provider
Develop and publish consolidated reports on a periodic basis for Ahold Delhaize USA Brand finance, and RBS Finance
Oversee monthly and quarter-end activities; review and approve journal entries and monthly account reconciliations prepared by direct reports
Oversee the preparation of various reports and compile/review statistics and periodic metrics to drive team performance
Work directly with internal and external audit process activities related to area of responsibility to assure the auditors receive necessary data, documentation, and explanations
Recommend and execute in the implementation of goals and objectives of the team and associates
Make recommendations to the development, improvement, implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement
Oversee and process 1099 reporting and submission
Maintain compliance with Unclaimed Property end to end processing of stale dated checks to state reporting
Manage staff chain of custody for valid vendor payments within the department

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
4-6 years’ experience
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Team player, able to work collaboratively at all levels and build partnerships with cross-functional teams.
Energetic self-starter with an attention to detail
Ability to work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
Some travel may be required; up to 10%
Experience in working in a corporate environment.
Knowledge of Excel and Access databases
SAP Knowledge ( Preferred)
Requires the ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments
Ability to prioritize and escalate issues.
Ability to make recommendations based on interpretation of quantitative analysis.
Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills - both oral and written
