ECHO is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager. The Accounts Payable manager is responsible for all AP processes and functions at Echo and subsidiaries. This role manages the Accounts Payable department, implements and manages policies and procedures to protect the company’s assets, and recommends systems improvements, and workload organization. Accountable for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices including 3-way match, review and approvals, and payment runs.

This is a hybrid position that will offer the flexibility of working from home and on-site at our Lake Zurich facility.

AP Manager Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages the AP team and coordinates accounts payable processes (inventory, non-inventory, expense reports).
  • Provide training, direction, guidance and feedback to help motivate staff and improve productivity.
  • Coordinate maintaining vendor and payment records in compliance with policy and legal requirements.
  • Review AP postings to ensure proper disbursements and avoid duplicate / un-authorized payments.
  • Manage A/P disbursements (ACH, Check, Wire).
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely issues resolution.
  • Own 3 way match discrepancy process in coordination with cross functional leadership in purchasing and warehouse management.
  • Assist in Month-End close, in-transit accruals, and open receiver (GRIR, Goods Received / Invoice not received) balances.
  • Assist in internal and external audits (JSOX, Deloitte).
  • Oversee 1099 process.

AP Manager Job Experience/Skills:

  • 10+ years of Accounts Payable experience, including 5 years in a manager role.
  • High-volume, fast paced manufacturing experience is required.
  • Experience with major accounting software packages such as Microsoft Dynamics365 Business Central and Infor XA preferred.
  • Strong problem-solver.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong affinity for controls and streamlining processes.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
