The Work You Will Do:

We are looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented candidates with great customer service skills for this Accounting Services Analyst-A position. This position is in the Disbursements Management Unit, within the Bureau of Finance and Accounting. This position primary responsibilities include the auditing and vouchering of all financial obligations incurred by the department. Audits are performed in accordance with the Florida Chief Financial Officer’s rules and regulations, Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, Department policy and procedures, DMS rules and regulations and FLAIR requirements.

Within this Division, the Bureau of Finance and Accounting has primary responsibility for the department’s financial and accounting activities including planning, organizing, and directing finance and accounting services.

Pay:

This position is hiring at $43,500 per year.


Your Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for working with Agency financial and accounting records and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Audits and processes accounts payable and/or receivable and related paperwork in compliance with state and Agency policies and procedures and performs related research to resolve discrepancies as required. Codes and inputs financial data using specialized accounting software and databases. Maintains department financial files, spreadsheets and logs. Audits financial transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance. Performs routine accounting reconciliations and monitors accounts. Provides assistance and responds to routine accounting/financial questions.

  • Policy - Ability to interpret and apply related policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Computer Application Knowledge - Knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Fiscal/Accounting Technology - Knowledge of electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities.
  • Accounting Principles - Ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Data Collection - Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of financial data collection and report preparation.
  • Accounting Systems - Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.
