We’re growing rapidly and we’re seeking an experienced, customer oriented, friendly coworkers to join us. We’re currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with experience using NetSuite, located at our office in Leawood, KS.

In this role, you will manages full cycle accounting, including day- to-day accounting management, assisting with financial and tax reporting, journal entries, consolidations, cash management, and the continual improvement of internal control policies and processes. You'll also perform a variety of tasks in support of daily operations, including but not limited to:

  • Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.

  • Provides management, guidance, and training to Accounts Payable Specialists

  • Design and maintain accounting information systems to produce timely and relevant financial data for internal decision making purpose and for meeting funding agency, regulatory and other external requirements

  • Oversee and manage representative payee process, cash flow, purchasing, accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Manages all of the day-to-day accounting duties and responsibilities.

  • Work closely with the accounting and finance teams to provide analysis of third party collections and revenue and recommend actions to maximize revenue and reduce risk and exposure.

  • Works collaboratively with CFO on annual independent audit and other compliance audits to ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with federal, state and local laws as well as accounting standards set forth by the funding agencies

  • Collaborates with CFO in generating annual Uniform Financial reports and tax filings. Coordinate and participate in the development and monitoring of budgets for internal use and for proposals, service contracts and amendments for funding agencies

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and financial analysis in various formats for leadership

  • Works and collaborates with CFO in leading regular financial and productivity review with leadership team and be able to relate financial measures impact as well as present monthly financials to board as needed

  • Manage purchasing, vendor and banking relationships

  • Provide leadership, direction support and training to financial management and accounting staff

  • Provide data for yearly reports to different agencies

  • Represent organization, as assigned, to financial partners, including financial institutions, auditors, public officials

  • Participate in policy development as a member of the Leadership team.

  • Perform other work as directed by the CFO

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.

  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.

  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with established policies and procedures.

  • Participates in department and clinic meetings as well as professional development activities.

  • Understands HIPAA regulations and maintains the strictest confidentiality at all times. Has read and understands the company’s HIPAA Privacy Policy.

  • Complies with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned/necessary.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, or another related field OR four years work experience performing substantially similar functions in lieu of educational requirement, plus a minimum of five years hands on experience as a high performing Staff Accountant, Accounting Manager or Public Accountant and a minimum of 3 years experience actively working with NetSuite

Other qualifications include:

  • Experience creating financial statements and understanding of their interrelationships

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

  • Excellent accounting software skills, such as experience with NetSuite or GreatPlains

  • Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of financial statements, financial analysis, and general ledger computer systems

  • Demonstrates proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of finance and accounting practices and processes in a medical setting

  • Must possess proficient typing and 10-key skills

  • Demonstrates a proven track record in integrity, reliability and dependability

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency

  • Demonstrates effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to foster effective work relationships with providers, patients, and team members.

  • Demonstrated ability to function independently without supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

  • Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and email (Outlook or Gmail)

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use general office equipment including phones, fax machines, copiers and other similar office technology on a regular basis

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of all internal and external communications

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

  • Understanding of and ability to comply with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook

Candidates with experience working in a healthcare setting are preferred.
