Position Overview:

Under general supervision of the Finance Manager, processes accounts payable for all departments. Assists with processing payroll and payroll related functions. Responsible in a backup roll for more complex and specialized accounting and financial analysis. Provides support/backup to other Commissioners’ Office of Administration and Finance personnel as required.

General Responsibilities:

Responsible for entering accounts payable, printing checks, and maintaining accounts payable records current. Assists with processing manual checks (payroll or accounts payable) as needed. Reconciles health insurance invoices with payroll records to make sure the invoices are accurate and reconciles telephone and other invoices as requested. Responsible for cash receipts; receives monies from other departments, records in cash journal, prepares and makes deposits. Assist with review of payroll input by specific departments, may enter department payroll, print paychecks and serve as backup for the submittal of payroll taxes and prints and mails checks related to payroll (child support, garnishment checks, etc.) as needed. Assists with records of employees who are out on disability and invoices employees for insurance benefits. Provides a wide variety of clerical, accounting, and related tasks.

Qualifications:

· Duties require knowledge equivalent to completion of two years of college in accounting or related field and 1-3 years of related experience.

· Knowledge of New Hampshire County/municipal government operation is preferred.

· Knowledge of accounting software and computer information systems including spreadsheets, etc.

· Valid Driver’s License Required

· Must possess strong interpersonal, communication, and accounting skills. Must also possess great team skills to work on group projects and other collaborative efforts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.26 - $31.27 per hour
