Job Description


This role will be responsible for supporting the core accounting responsibilities for the department. The role will review, analyze, and interpret various reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reports. This role will add value through detailed review of accounting information and partnering with the accounting team to provide meaningful analysis. A successful candidate is a team player who will continuously look for opportunities to make the team more efficient and effective, advocate best practices, develop, and maintain operating procedures, keep attention to detail and use problem-solving skills to find effective solutions.

  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items involving inventory valuation, plant expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in inventory, manufacturing, and accrual accounting procedures.
  • Utilize the available ERP and export systems to obtain information needed in the research and reconciliation process.
  • Develop/maintain reports to communicate financial and statistical information to the accounting team.
  • Develop and maintain updated SOPs to support departmental tasks and processes.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the tools utilized by the department including Excel, Access and other office tools.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing client schedules and worksheets as needed.
  • Other projects as requested by management to support the Finance department.

Qualifications


Education:
Associate degree in Accounting/Finance preferred. Associate in Supply Chain or Business with emphasis in accounting will be considered or equivalent education and experience.

Related Experience: 0 – 3 years of accounting related work or Manufacturing experience required. Experience involving supply chain and/or inventory analysis preferred.

Equipment/Software Skills: Excellent knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications. Advanced user of Excel (pivot tables, filters, look-up formulas) required. Knowledge of IBM and IBM AS400 systems, Access and/or Sequel preferred.

Physical:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands for extended periods of time in front of a computer monitor and use a computer keyboard and mouse.

Sensory: The employee will also occasionally stand and walk. Close vision needed for working on a computer for long lengths of time. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, management, and other employees of the organization. The noise level for this position is usually moderate.

Mental/Reasoning: This position requires a great deal of learning, reasoning, and analyzing of departmental databases and processes as well as the ability to analyze, interpret and manipulate financial data to ensure accruals are properly stated and accounts are properly reconciled.
