Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is an accounting position in the Finance department. The incumbent will need to possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Inputs invoices for payment utilizing appropriate payment method; verifies that appropriate supporting documentation is provided and the approval process procedures are followed
  • Approves Purchasing Card transactions timely and accurately
  • Assists with accountant level transactions, daily compliance monitoring, and training
  • Prepares voucher schedules and files as policy dictates
  • Researches questions regarding account balances, accounting transactions, and adjusting entries
  • Trains and assists employees with policy, researching questions about travel, purchasing card, and accounts payable policy
  • Assists with preparation of travel reimbursements
  • Trains to be a complete back up for cash management function and able to assist in cash management functions
  • Assists in daily cash collections
  • Purchases and distributing supplies

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Microsoft office knowledge, including proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accounting records
  • Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data
  • Ability to communicate effectively and timely
  • Ability to utilize problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet goals and objectives in a timely manner

Qualifications:

Minimum –

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline, or at least two years of accounting/finance experience

Preferred –

  • Experience working with an electronic accounts payable and/or procurement system
  • Experience working with an electronic travel and/or purchasing card system
