Description:Luther Park Community specializes in Assisted Living, Alzheimer's/Dementia Care and Skilled Care. We are seeking an experienced Accountant with Quickbooks Desk Top experience. BA/B.S. in Accounting or related field required.
This position is responsible for various month-end closing process items necessary for preparation of monthly financial reports, as well as assistance in areas of accounts payable, payroll, and other general reporting requirements. Assists Controller with various tasks as needed.

Essential Functions (partial list)

  • Reconcile company bank accounts monthly.
  • Enter deposits into billing software and accounting software on a timely basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of work papers used to prepare monthly journal entries, and in the preparation of monthly journal entries, as needed.
  • Investigate differences in budgeted versus actual results on monthly financial statements.
  • Conduct majority of accounts payable functions: coding and entering invoices, printing checks, and answering payment inquiries on a weekly basis; review statements and follow up with vendors on outstanding invoices monthly; file check stubs with documentation as needed.
  • Prepare inter-company payroll reimbursement checks on a biweekly basis along with payroll budget to actual reports detailing payroll performance to submit to department managers; reconcile employee miscellaneous withholding items and prepare related checks monthly.
  • Reconcile cash receipts provided by billing managers to cash deposits recorded to company bank accounts monthly.
  • Assist in the preparation of biweekly payroll that is timely and accurate.
  • Perform quarterly Payroll Based Journal submissions.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget as needed.
  • Prepare audit confirmations at year-end and assist in the preparation of audit work papers and various documentation requests from auditors for annual audit.

Requirements:

  • BA/B.S. in Accounting or related field required.
  • 1-3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience required, preferably for a small business or non-profit.
  • Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and related software; QuickBooks Desktop experience is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Detail and deadline oriented.
  • Ability to thoroughly analyze and research information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
