Part-Time, temporary positions
Flexible hours:
Before School: 8:00-9:00
During School: Flexible
After School: 4:00-5:00
Should have working knowledge to support students with Middle School Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and/or Social Studies. Bachelor's degree required; endorsement in one or more middle school subjects preferred.
Pay rate: $30.00/hour
Essential Functions With Students
- Provides individual and/or small group academic tutoring for students in grades K -12
- Tutors various subjects including all content areas
- Meets with and instructs student(s) in the locations and at the times designated
- Assists students to develop organizational skills to ensure school success
As a Tutor
- Collaborates with tutoring supervisor and school staff to develop lesson plans and instructional goals
- Maintains and reports records of tutoring session instruction and student performance results to tutoring supervisor
- Upholds school and county policy and procedures
- Maintains and submits records of hours worked to the appropriate supervisor in the required format within a timely manner
- Establishes cooperative professional relationships with others
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Tutors should have experience instructing secondary students across content areas.
Education and Experience
Minimum of a high school diploma. Candidates should have previous experience tutoring or teaching children. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Virginia teaching certificate are preferred.
