About This Role:
The Department of Kinesiology, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is seeking an Academic Advisor to join their team. This position is responsible for prospective student recruitment and advising for undergraduates in the department's three academic programs: Kinesiology, Integrative Physiology, and Public Health. This position reports to the Interim Department Head.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can build relationships and is an excellent oral and written communicator, passionate about getting to know and help students, organized and approachable, positive-focused with a growth mindset, adaptable, and can provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Advise undergraduate students and maintain academic advising databases and records
Assist students with transfer credits from other institutions and study abroad experiences
Assist with Enrollment Days and Orientation Sessions
Co-lead Kinesiology Student Ambassadors
Work in conjunction with other advisors, department head, faculty, and staff to plan, develop, and grow academic student services and promote student success
Assist in developing and maintaining advising resources such as advising sheets, curriculum guides, website information, and other advising tools and resources for students, staff, and faculty
Attend and participate in department meetings and various events as required

What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
One year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or certificate in academic advising, counseling, and student development, or related field
Three years of relevant experience
Computer competency
Familiarity with kinesiology and/or other health-related academic disciplines
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Excellent customer service skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated effectiveness in working with diverse individuals

Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
