POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the duties required to produce diamond-plated tools for cylindrical honing and ensure they are durable and precise in order to maintain minimum tolerances and long life.

Essential Functions

1. Prepare tanks by checking chemicals and electrical connections.

2. Prepare parts to include cleaning, deburring, masking, and making electric connections.

3. Apply grit to plate part to comply with setup sheet.

4. Condition part by hand or with honing machine.

5. Clean, measure and inspect tools for burns and chipped plating.

6. Recover grit and clean in acid.

7. Test tanks by analyzing chemical content and adjust per formula on each tank.

8. Maintain and repair equipment to include pumps, hoses and arbors.

9. Mix, move and store hazardous chemicals.

10. Transports waste from process container to waste container.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Requires high school level math, with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables and data bases. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments; make minor modifications to equipment. Use computers to input data. Interpretation of data and measuring devices requiring advanced skills and knowledge. Equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training.

Experience: Requires a minimum of three months up to and including twelve months to gain sufficient experience to perform the requirements of the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
