POSITION: Recreation Program Manager, Business Title: Wessman Arena Facility Manager 100%, Academic Staff, Renewable, 12-month Appointment, 1 Vacancy


DUTIES: The Wessman Arena Facility Manager provides leadership in facility operations including daily activities, athletic contests, student supervision, concession operations, and community event rentals for Campus Recreation in Wessman Arena. This individual works directly with professional staff and student staff to coordinate programs and events, mitigate conflicts, assess program success, maintain budget, and develop solutions for the department. This is a full time, 12-month position which will require facility supervision and support during operating hours which may include evenings and weekends.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
  • Experience supervising part time individuals
  • Two years demonstrated work experience with facility operation(s)
  • Current valid driver’s license


This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Master’s degree from accredited institution in Recreation or Leisure Services Management, Student Affairs, Athletic Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with Innosoft Fusion
  • Professional experience in higher education student employee supervision
  • Member of USA Ice Rink Association or another local agency (WIAMA, MIAMA, etc.)
  • Experience managing a fitness/wellness or athletic facility
  • Experience in food service and/or concession stand operations and/or bar service operations
  • Budget experience in excess of $50,000/year
  • Experience operating ice resurfacer machine

SALARY & BENEFITS:

Salary range for this position is: $43,500 - $47,000 annually. Specific benefit information can be found here. A snap-shot of benefits offered for this position include:
